even still , she shrinks at the sight of yet another adult trying to comfort her , to make her feel safe . ( she hates it . ) feels lied to , used , as if she’s only another tool in this damned game . she wants to spit on summer’s kindness , seething beneath poorly veiled lies and disgusted at the audacity of it all . but … summer is in the same position as she , only grown and of far more understanding .
‘ i feel like a monster , summer . ‘
she hugs herself tightly , as if she could withdraw from being . turns away from the woman , hiding the redness in her eyes . ( she’s not allowed to see that . )
‘ it won’t ever be okay , ‘ she practically growls. ‘ i can’t - i can’t go back to the way things were before all this . mom wouldn’t … look at me the same . ‘ // @silvrsought
